Crimean reaction to the Balaklava project of Artemy Lebedev

I think many have already seen the project of Artemy Lebedev’s studio on the development of the infrastructure of Balaclava, especially since he showed it in his blog.
Oh, he stirred the nest!
Everyone needs to do something about Balaclava, the authorities, business, and citizens. But what and how exactly - no one has yet had a clear answer to these questions. And recently, the studio of Moscow designer Artemy Lebedeva presented her concept of developing the infrastructure of the Balaklava Bay (and, as the Sevastopol authorities say, they did not order this project and everything that was done is an independent initiative of the studio).
In short, Lebedev offers the option of turning the “abandoned harbor into a world-class marina” into one of the tourist centers of Russia.
The reaction of Sevastopol to the project is ambiguous - from “I like” and “it's time for a long time” to “take my hands off” and “Kuprin won't forgive you for this.”
So what is the essence of the project and what the locals really think

Briefly about the project
As stated on the website of the studio, the public places of Balaklava are not well-equipped and generally make a depressing impression - the devastation is especially striking against the backdrop of magnificent natural species.
“The convenient geographical location of Balaklava Bay makes it an ideal place to accommodate a high-class marina,” noted Artemy Lebedev.
Instead of chaotically grown snack bars and tents on the Nazukin embankment, it is proposed to build a modern public complex with a yacht club, restaurants and shops - the center of public life of Balaklava - a three-story building with an open roof.

At the site of the water area near the community center, it is proposed to lay wooden pontoons on which you can walk for a time of important sailing events. There you can hold exhibitions.

The plans, in addition to the yacht club and the pier, also include the transformation of the embankment, which will become the main place for walks, with descents to the water, lawns, benches, and sheds that create shade.Along the sea - galleries with light and air pergolas, under which you can hide from the scorching sun.

On the basis of the Metalist plant, designers would like to create a complex for the repair, maintenance and storage of ships, which will give the city new jobs and full service.
“The complex is located at the end of the bay and is visible from afar, therefore its architectural appearance is particularly important. The unusual shape gives the complex a modern look, and thanks to the reflective lining it harmoniously combines with the natural environment, ”said the authors of the project.

One of the main new facilities will be a pedestrian bridge. Near the ship repair complex there is a naval museum - a submarine repair plant - this is a popular tourist attraction. But the section of the coast at Metalist is closed, and people have to walk a few kilometers along the gravel. Thus, the bridge with observation platforms and benches will connect remote parts of the bay and fit into a new architectural image.

Designers also offered to reconstruct old concrete buildings: “We are building the entrance group, balconies, a curved roof, painting everything in pleasant colors, adding wood — and before us is a beautiful new hotel.”
It was

It became

Public beach Balaclava, which is made of concrete, they want to close the wooden flooring, and the existing beach area - to expand and supplement the pool.

The final stage of improvement of Balaklava Bay should be the development of a design code and thoughtful navigation. The first will save historic buildings from visual debris, and the second will help navigate the bay.
